Drill & Ceremonial Camp

Drill & Ceremonial Camp 2018 has been one of the best camps that I have been to this summer. I would highly recommend the camp to all the cadets next year, it would be nice to see more friendly faces next year!!

I was presented The Warrant Officer Gaz Tonks Awards for being the Best Overall Cadet, which was very surprising as it was a National Corps camp with 400+ cadets. It was presented to me by the Commandant; an amazing experience! The flight staff were amazing & we were able to pull off an amazing parade.

The drill that you learn is different yet fantastic, as it’s weapons drill & I’m sure a few people will be interested in that. The camp is not only drill. There is a lot of downtime, where there is clay pigeon shooting, archery, a climbing wall and paint balling (although it’s targets, it’s so fun). There is also encouraged STEM & CVQO, seeming as RAF100 focuses on commemorate, celebrate & inspire, & I feel that all of this was achieved during the week. Drill isn’t boring, & I hope you can tell through the photos taken throughout the week. I had so much fun the past week & was very sad when it ended as we made sure the parade was the best that RAFAC has done. The Red Arrows flypast was a surprise too!
