Tying a Windsor Knot

This may seem complicated to do and certainly describing it makes it sound more difficult than it is. Once you've practiced and learnt you will find it's easy. Use the following as guidance. You could print it and place it to the side of your mirror while you tie the knot.

Tying a windsor knot #1.
Step 1 - Start with the wide end of the tie on your right. Extend it about 12" below the narrow end.

Step 2 - Cross the wide end over the narrow end and bring it up through the loop. Make sure it's tight.

Step 3 - Bring the wide end down, around behind the narrow end, and up on your right. Again keep it tight.

Step 4 - Push this end down through the loop. Pull it tight.

Step 5 - Turn the wide end, and pass it across and around the narrow.

Step 6 - Pull the wide end through the loop, between your neck and the tie.

Tying a windsor knot #7.
Step 7 - Slip the wide end through the knot in the front. Tighten and draw up to the collar. Adjust to make the perfect kot.
