398 Squadron HQ

A guided tour of our headquarters

Before you come and visit, this page will give you a brief idea of some of the facilities that we have on 398 Squadron.

Front gate Unit crest Main entrance

Entrance

We're situated on Pond Road, Egham and easy to spot because our headquarters is surrounded by a huge green hedge. Every squadron has it's Air Training Corps crest on display - ours is on one of the huts, just inside the entrance gate. The main entrance to the squadron runs between the 2 huts.

Parade square Grass area Grass areas

Outside

The areas around the huts are used for many activities. The parade square is used for drill and for leadership tasks. The grassy areas are used to practice putting up tents and field cooking practice.

Inside the huts

You'll first walk into the main entrance foyer. We've got a number of classrooms, which are used for training sessions and for projects. The main hall has to fit the whole squadron into it for final parades, presentations and briefings.
